Lighting of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue
Inaugurated by Indonesia’s President Bp. Joko Widodo, the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue stands at 136 metres tall and is the 3rd tallest statue in the world. By day, the statue stands clearly on the horizon of South Kuta, visible from as far as 30 kilometres away, in Tanah Lot. By night, the statue takes on an impactful, commanding presence and the lighting manages to accentuate details that cannot be visually captured during the day. We are very proud and humbled to be entrusted with the lighting of an icon.
There were many challenges faced in designing and coordinating the lighting system to ensure the outcome is what we had envisioned. The design was iterated many times and verified with lighting simulation models.
